Sony HDR-XR200V’s Review

by www.productwiki.com

The Sony Handycam HDR-XR200V is a high definition camcorder from Sony's 2009 lineup. The camcorder features full 1080p high definition video recording, 4-megapixel still image capture, and a built-in 120 GB hard drive to store up to 48 hours of high definition footage. It is designed with a 2.7" touch LCD screen that rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles. The HDR-XR200V includes a professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens with a special T* anti-glare coating that provides 15x optical and 180x digital zoom. It utilizes advanced recording technology including Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization, Smile Shutter, and face detection technology. The HDR-XR200V also records audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and has a built-in zoom microphone for realistic sound. The camcorder is a step up from Sony's HDR-XR100 since it has a larger hard drive and includes a built-in GPS receiver for geotagging and a map-index function.

Sony HDR-XR200V

0 of 2 people found the following review helpful

Pros

Haven't found anything really great, easy to use, records HD and SD

Cons

Picture quality of standard definition not really great

Summary

I have used the camera several times. I tried a JVC and a Canon before I purchased this one. The quality of HD capture video in SD mode is not much better than the older Canon HI8 which I have been using. Have not used the camera in HD mode yet. For the money spent, a less expensive JVC or Canon is a better deal
