At NAB Grass Valley will show a new HD Fiber Transmission System for its LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam camera, used by most of the major live sports and entertainment production companies.

The system, a first of its kind in the industy, supports a wide variety of HD formats, including 1080p 50/60 and 720p50/60, and features 3 Gbps return outputs at the backside of the base station. There’s even the capability to capture images at 1x, 2x and 3x speed support for pristine HD Super Slow Motion applications.

The HD Fiber Transmission System consists of one adapter and one out of two models of Base Stations. The HD Fiber adapter (LDK5880) can be connected, via a SMPTE hybrid fiber cable, to two different Base Stations:
    * LDK4582 - 1080p, 1080i, 720p 50/60Hz. (3Gb/s outputs/returns at Base Station for 1080p mode).
    * LDK4583 - 1080i/720p 1x, 2x and 3x speed (including support for Grass Valley;s “AnyLight” anti-flicker signal processing technology at the Base Station).

The 3 Gbps video outputs on the LDK4582 base station support Level A of the SMPTE 425M transmission standard.
