IDX Unveils New Lithium Ion V-Mount Line

IDX System Technology has developed a new high-load Lithium Ion battery line designed for the unique demands of high-definition production. Average battery loads are increasing to 60-80W in today’s HD environments. The new E-HL9 series employs the latest cell technology to handle the increased capacity requirements.

The E-HL9 Series, available in two new models, allows operators to shoot continuously for long periods, while handling the extreme in-rush associated with many of today's most sophisticated recording and lighting systems. They offer a 10 Amp capacity; nearly 50 percent more power delivery over previous IDX batteries.

To sustain performance, E-HL9 Series batteries are designed with a high-level class of cell specifications and an accelerated high-rate discharge handlesup to 10A/120W. The series can also be used in critical situations requiring a high DC power draw such as on-board lighting applications. While delivering a significant power payload, the high current draw is engineered not to adversely affect the longevity of the battery. Its architecture results in an extended overall life cycle of nearly 10 percent.

The exclusive IDX PowerLink feature can directly connect two E-HL9 batteries, delivering a total power capacity of 176Wh. It also supports Digi-View, enabling a viewfinder reading for battery levels in many cameras. A five-LED power status display delivers an accurate, incremental capacity reading. In addition, a computer-based Battery Management System can be used on the E-HL9 for enhanced diagnostics and a comprehensive review of the battery’s history of use.

The new E-HL9S is an economical alternative battery with the same single-unit power capacity as the E-HL9 and a three-LED power indicator display. This stand-alone version has the durability of all IDX batteries, including triple safety and other features such as a two-year product warranty.

Maximum output voltage for both batteries is rated at 16.8VDC, with a maximum discharge current of 10A (120W).

The E-HL9 Series is completely air transportable - DOT/IATA regulations make it possible for unlimited spare Li-ion batteries under 100Wh to be transported in carry-on luggage.
